I came to natural health at a very young age through my parents’ shared love of nature. I remember them campaigning against toxic pesticides, and for better town planning to create happier, thriving communities. I was taught to look at the world through a wonderous gaze and never to stop enquiring about the magic of life. My education was secular, yet it focussed on a deep respect for biology and how all life-forms are interconnected and dependent on their environment.

When I was five years old I was plagued with chronic throat infections which the doctors treated with repeated courses of antibiotics until they declared that the only way to stop this from recurring was to remove my tonsils (and possibly my adenoids too!). Instead, my parents consulted a homoeopathic doctor and with one remedy, the problem disappeared without further medical interventions. My father was so impressed he went on to study homoeopathy just so that he could treat his family whenever he could. To this day I still have his comprehensive homoeopathic remedy collection in my treatment room.

I studied biology but I dreamt of becoming a contemporary dancer, so it became my early career. Dance taught me to rely on physical sensations for precise movement and effective self-care, an ability I was able to transfer to my intuitive skills when I trained in deep tissue massage initially, and later to all my treatment modalities including my work with fascia and visceral manipulation.

At 21, I received a powerful Marian message (a kind of vision) which fundamentally shaped my spiritual life and commitment to therapeutic work. The event instructed me to recognise that whatever the battles ahead, my achievements would not originate from me or my own knowledge. The lesson was one of humility and recognition of the invisible forces at war behind the challenges of our human condition. In this context, healing is more of an alignment within than a programmed action from without.

I was a struggling contemporary dancer and teacher, but the moment I retrained and was able to set up a treatment room I became busy. My Colonic Hydrotherapy and Naturopathy teacher moved to Spain soon after I graduated in 1992 and gave me his practice (a great gift for which I will always be grateful); he also encouraged me to train in Systematic Kinesiology with Brian H Butler and Dr Sheldon Deal.

Systematic Kinesiology gave me the solid foundation my practice needed. With Kinesiology, I understood what a client-centred approach to healing is. Everything fell into place: the interconnectedness (wholistic) principles, the energetic component and the recognition that spiritual alignment and humility are the conditions.

From then on, everything moved quickly. In 1995, I co-founder the Whole Health Centre in England’s Lane (Hampstead) with Brian Miller, a multi-disciplinary and complementary health centre and  shop with a strong emphasis on detoxification, Colonics and self-empowerment. There, I had a base for my Naturopathic Colonic Hydrotherapy training school and I founded the Institute of Professional Colon Hydrotherapy (IPCH) in 1996.

I longed for nature and green spaces to support my client’s therapeutic experience more profoundly and lastingly and, in 1998, Brian and I moved to the Scottish Borders where we created Cleansing for Life at Coveyheugh, a lush residential country estate where we hosted juice detox retreats and various professional training courses.

Fifteen years later, I came back to London without Brian and closer to my aging parents. Cleansing for Life moved to the Pyrenees and the Whole Health Centre re-opened on Haverstock Hill.

My book "Too Young To Grow Old" was published in 2016 just in time for my father to read it before he passed suddenly. It marked the accomplishment of my many years of bearing witness to the miracles brought about by a functional approach to health, self-care and healing using nutrition, cleansing, movement and (self)-compassion.

COVID put an end to the Whole Health Centre but was a chance to rally with my now-husband, Roger, against the pressure of a world so far disconnected from sound values that it would rather impose fear than support health. The consequences of this we are only just beginning to measure.

Whole Health Colonics is now a beautifully curated space on the ground floor of our home where I practice without the stresses of maintaining a high-street foothold but with all the experience I can now bring.

I love writing, and over the years I have contributed to Here's Health magazine, Radiant Health magazine, IBS network magazine and CAM magazine. I have been featured in The Independent newspaper and have made appearances on Channel 4, BBC2 and ITV television.

I have trained in Hypnotherapy, NLP, and counselling, although I don’t practice these modalities independently. The words, storylines and descriptions of our life are fundamental to our selves, our choices and ultimately to our well-being.

I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

My Colonic Hydrotherapy practitioner training is approved by the British Register of Complementary Practitioners (BRCP).
