The Beat Candida Programme

Understanding Candida

This is a specific programme designed to help beat the unpleasant and pervasive symptoms associated with Candida and other yeast overgrowth which are notoriously difficult to eliminate and often originate in the bowel.

Candida can affect both sexes, is often linked to antibiotic use, and in women Candida overgrowth is often a good indicator of excess oestrogen and can be linked to the contraceptive pill, and/or hormonal changes such as time of month, perimenopause or stress.

Beating Candida is part of sexual health and supports optimal fertility. Candida is often passed back and forth during intercourse, and in this case both partners should consider treatment.

Candida does not solely affect the pelvic area. It can overgrow and become symptomatic/virulent in the mouth, stomach and indeed the whole of the digestive tract.

In its yeast-like form, Candida is generally tolerated by the immune system and can be present in the digestive tract of up to 83% of healthy individuals as outlined by a recent large-scale cohort study utilising highly sensitive molecular methods (like quantitative PCR).

Candida (especially Candida Albicans) has the potential ability to morph into a fungal, more virulent and penetrating, state which is when it can become chronic, damaging to the tissues it lives on and much more difficult to treat.

The classic symptom of Candida Albicans overgrowth is mouth and vaginal thrush, but there are different types of Candida that can be involved in persistent symptoms of itching, redness, inflammation in and around the pelvis, anus, scrotum, penis, bladder etc.

The programme focuses on local treatment of the symptomatic areas while also rebalancing the delicate environment of the bowel and restoring the integrity of the gut lining for greater resistance and improved immunity.

The Beat Candida Programme is suitable for:

  • Candida and Yeast related symptoms such as chronic or recurring thrush, anal itching, and/or bladder symptoms
  • improving energy and mental clarity
  • enhancing fertility
  • strengthening immunity
  • as part of recovery from antibiotic (over)use

Please note: the “Beat Candida Programme” is not suitable for the treatment of mould sensitivity, Toxic Mould Syndrome and other complex fungal infections. Although Candida is often associated with those cases, it is rarely the cause, and treatment would require a more individual and functional approach.

Before starting the Beat Candida Programme, functional testing might be recommended to establish the need for a more tailored approach.

If you are under-weight this programme might not be suitable.
